Aurora Cannabis (TSX:ACB)(OTCQB:ACBFF) announced today that it has officially become the first licensed supplier of medical cannabis to Malta. Aurora received an import license which was issued by the Malta Medicines Authority (MMA) on June 5. Aurora is wholly owned by its German subsidiary Pedanios GmbH, who received the necessary export license from German authorities on June 21.
Pedanios also currently sells medical cannabis to Germany and Italy. Malta will make for the third EU member country to which it sells. Medical cannabis was initially legalized by the Maltese parliament on March 26, 2018.

This is a significant milestone for Maltese patients who have been waiting for medical cannabis to become available in their country."
Medicine
Two products will ship today to Malta. They are Pedanios 22/1 and 20/1 and prescriptions will be able to be filled in pharmacies within two weeks. Medically approved vaporization devices for the consumption of Aurora cannabis products will also be included in the order.

This new market was availed of through Aurora's close collaboration with its local distribution partner Cherubino Ltd. Cherubino is the largest pharmaceutical wholesaler in Malta, with over 100 years of operating history. This partnership was necessary in order to navigate the stringent legislative requirements of the MMA to supply high-quality medical cannabis to Maltese patients.

Aurora is one of the world's largest cannabis companies. It is headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta and has a funded capacity of over 430,000 kg per annum. It operates across Canada and Europe. One of its recent acquisitions was CanniMed Therapeutics which it took-over in May of this year. It had also bought a $103Million CAD stake in Liquor Stores.
