Yesterday, Medical Marijuana Inc (OTC:MJNA) announced that it garnered news coverage on Yahoo Finance in 2018. It was even named a top five CBD company. Twenty-four hours later, MJNA stock is trading up nearly 4%. Coincidence? Probably not; but worth mentioning all the same.
MJNA Stock: January 4th, 2019
Hemp stocks amassed a lot of attention late last year, and are still maintaining that level of success, with MJNA stock being one of them. Even Yahoo Finance thinks so. On December 4th, 2018, Yahoo Finance featured the San Diego-based company as one of the top five hemp-derived CBD companies in the United States. The cannabis company just made the official announcement today, and on the news, the stock jumped close to 4%.
According to Yahoo Finance, as of 1:19 PM, MJNA stock is trading up 3.20%. Its trading price is $0.087, higher than where it was at the end of December.
Good publicity can go a long way for a company, and Medical Marijuana Inc understands that. "We are honoured to be included as a top five CBD company," said CEO Dr. Stuart Titus. He then explained that MJNA is "dedicated to [helping] shape the high-quality standards for the industry."

Not the First Time
Of course, this is not the first time Medical Marijuana has been recognized by a website or publication. On December 18th, Technology Headlines Magazine included one of the company's subsidiaries as a key cannabis player to watch. The subsidiary was Kannaway. On the news, MJNA stock jumped to 3.90%.
