Marijuana penny stocks are up and down this Monday morning on the TSXV. Last week, major cannabis stocks were green and red throughout the week with a very inconsistent pattern and today seems to be the same. Aurora Cannabis (NYSE:ACB) is currently seeing gains on the NYSE while Canopy Growth (NYSE:CGC) shares continue to fall since Friday.

Today, we'll take a closer look at two marijuana penny stocks that are trending high on the TSXV!

Pure Global Cannabis Inc. (TSXV:PURE)

Pure Global Cannabis operates as a life sciences cannabis company in Toronto, Ontario. Through its subsidiary, PureSinse Inc, the company produces and sells cannabis products for medical, wellness, and recreational markets.

Three days ago, the marijuana penny stock announced that it has been awarded a Health Canada sales license.

"This is a significant milestone for us and something we have been vigorously preparing for over the last several months," said Pure Global Cannabis CEO Malay Panchal. "We feel the medical community has been hugely underserviced with poor patient and physician education, and product offerings, areas we hope to be trail blazers in and make a significant contribution to in 2019."

This news is likely what caused Pure Global to be one of the top trending marijuana penny stocks on the TSXV today. At press time, PURE is trading at $0.24 a share, up +$0.04 (+23.08%).

Aleafia Health Inc. (TSXV:ALEF)

Aleafia Health is another marijuana penny stock that is trending on the TSXV today. Aleafia operates as a vertically integrated cannabis company that focuses specifically on medical consultation services. Five hours ago, the cannabis company announced it had fulfilled its first transaction under its cannabis supply agreement with CannTrust Holdings (TSX:TRST).

Aleafia has sold two cannabis crops to CannTrust Holdings, and both were harvested at Aleafia's indoor Port Perry cultivation facility.

“CannTrust continues to grow its medical patient base and is experiencing high demand for its recreational brands,” commented CEO of CannTrust Peter Aceto. “We are pleased to continue working with Aleafia to help meet ever increasing customer demand across our suite of products in both the medical and recreational markets.”

According to Yahoo Finance, the marijuana penny stock is currently trading at $1.61 a share, up +$0.01 (+0.62%).
