TORONTO, Nov. 27, 2018 /CNW/ - Province Brands of Canada — the Canadian company developing the world's first beers brewed from the cannabis plant — today announced a co-packing agreement with Georgian Bay Biomed, a Toronto-based company with a 120,000+ square foot cannabis production facility under construction in Collingwood, Ontario.
Georgian Bay Biomed is focused on growing a safer, higher yielding, consistent product by using patented innovative technology and automation.

The agreement will see Province Brands of Canada brew a line of premium non-alcoholic cannabis-powered beers for Georgian Bay Biomed based on Georgian Bay Biomed's own unique flavour and recipe. It is anticipated that certain beers will be brewed from the cannabis plant using Province Brands of Canada's patent-pending technologies, whereas others may be brewed from barley and later infused with a cannabis oil. Over the past two years, Province Brands of Canada has developed a patent-pending process that mashes and ferments cannabis and enables the creation of the world's first beers brewed from cannabis instead of barley.
The collaborative brewing process will coincide with having products on the shelf once the manufacture and sale of cannabis beverages are legalized in Canada and will be brewed in Province Brand of Canada's 123,000 square foot facility in Grimsby, Ontario (currently under construction).

The Georgian Bay Biomed team will work closely with Province Brands of Canada's Master Brewer, Rob Kevwitch to produce the beers. Beers brewed using Province Brand's patent-pending technologies will be brewed from the cannabis plant and will intoxicate using THC and other phytocannabinoids instead of alcohol. Since there is no barley in beers brewed from the cannabis plant, the beer will be gluten-free and low in calories and sugar.
