Aurora Cannabis Nordic Facility Making Progress; Cultivars Shipped to Denmark

Aurora Cannabis News

On Monday, Edmonton-based Aurora Cannabis (TSXV:ACB) provided an update on its international operations. Despite the update being positive, the ACB stock has fallen nearly 5%. But why? What exactly did the Aurora Cannabis operational update say? You'll see!

Aurora Cannabis Operational Update: Denmark

On August 13, Aurora Cannabis announced that it had shipped cultivars to Denmark, from its Mountain facility. This is significant news, considering with the mother plants now in Denmark, the Phase I Aurora Nordic facility can commence populating.

For those who don't know, the Aurora Nordic facility is a 100,000 square foot hybrid greenhouse. Over the next few months, the facility will be working towards full production capacity.

More Updates

Aurora Cannabis provided additional international updates on Monday.

For instance, the Canadian cannabis company said it will be introducing the Aurora Standard to emerging international markets.

Moreover, the company disclosed that, due to the German government restarting the tender process of finding companies for domestic cultivation, Aurora plans to participate in the new process. Why? Because it made it to the final round of the original process.

How's the Market Reacting?

The Aurora Cannabis operational update was positive. Therefore, it would have made sense to see the ACB stock in the green. After all, that's what usually happens when Aurora makes announcements, which, at this point, seems to be every week or so.

That's not the case, though. Either the market was expecting something else from the Aurora Cannabis international operation update, or it's an overall poor performing day for cannabis stocks (Aurora isn't the only one in the red).

The ACB Stock (TSXV:ACB)

According to Yahoo Finance, as of 2:01 p.m. EDT, Aurora Cannabis is trading at $5.84 on the TSX, which puts the stock down 4.11%.

The Takeaway

What do you think of the international update? Do you think the Aurora Cannabis stock should have increased today, considering what was announced?
