The once heavy-weight boxing champion of the world, Mike Tyson, is building a cannabis resort on 40-acres of desert land in California City.

Now that the state has officially legalized marijuana entirely, Tyson and his business buddies Robert Hickman and Jay Strommen can start the ball rolling on the resort.

California legalized recreational marijuana as of January 1st, (it legalized medical marijuana years ago).

The cannabis resort has been dubbed the ‘Tyson Ranch’ and is going to be made up of cultivation facilities, an educational school and a hydro-feed plant and supply shop for people who want to enter the business themselves.

Additionally, it will also house 'premium' camping grounds and cabins for staying in, along with a theatre for live music and a marijuana edibles factory.

Kind Festival

This area of the resort will soon hold a cannabis-themed music festival, which the boxer has called 'Kind Music Festival.'

The event will be an all-ages pop-up festival welcoming the state's newly updated cannabis laws. Marijuana won't be sold at the festival, but attendees can bring their own.

According to the press release, Kind Music Festival will have “the distinction of being the first-ever all-ages music festival that embraces California’s updated cannabis regulations.”

The Festival is penned in on February 23rd.

Well-known Faces and Cannabis

Celebrities are joining the cannabis industry in their droves.

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow has tied her Goop lifestyle publication with high-end MedMen retail stores. Country crooner Willie Nelson owns one of the US's top-selling flower lines, Willie’s Reserve, aimed at people who like to roll their own joints. Rapper Snoop Dogg is a well-known advocate of cannabis. His Colorado-based line of products called 'Leafs by Snoop' has eight strains of pre-packaged flowers, concentrates, and edibles. These include chocolate bars, cannabis drops, gummies, and peanut butter candy.
