As the world is starting to loosen its grip on medical and recreational cannabis, a host of innovative companies are now using the drug in many not-so-obvious ways! New cannabis products are hitting the shelves and these are very different from the typical marijuana associations.

One of the more positive facts about legalizing marijuana is that people are now free to try new things with it; free to create without fear of being an outlaw.

We have found some new and different (and often delicious) products that are using the plant properties.

Read on to discover some new products out there and how they are using cannabis to enhance their job.

Cannabis Products: Makeup:

The most surprising use for cannabis has got to be makeup. Milk Makeup brand launched the first ever cannabis-infused mascara in the spring and now to add to it, the company is following up with an eyebrow gel.

The reason for using cannabis oil? Well the CBD is being embraced by the beauty industry thanks to its intense hydrating, conditioning and anti-inflammatory properties. The CBD oil in this product is said to condition your brow hairs so that they are stronger, softer and never stiff which leads to longer product wear and no flaking. Every makeup lovers dream.

Face and Body Creams:

While we're in the beauty sphere lets consider face and body creams. For the same reason that CBD oil is being used to soften your brows, the cannabis oil is also proving itself a worthy moisturizer. Brands are quick to add CBD oil to anything labeled skincare as it helps to lock in moisture, is easily absorbable and anti-inflammatory.

Initial studies have found it to be a great ingredient for reducing redness, irritation and even signs of aging. Skin conditions such as acne, psoriasis, and eczema are also said to be eased by CBD. Some beauty brands have already jumped on it; some latest products include MGC Derma CBD Hyaluronic and Peptides Day Cream, Kiki Health CBD Oil 5% and Malin+Goetz Cannabis Hand and Body Wash.

Popsicles:

The Green Solution in Colorado is one of the state's largest cannabis dispensaries. It's also one of the most innovative with their selling of home-made THC popsicles starting this month. The popsicles come in Cherry and Grape flavors and are infused with indica THC which gives an uplifting and relaxing result.

"A great choice if you need to stabilize your mood, reduce stress or alleviate pain. We always strive to create the best tasting products with the most accurate dosage, and our Cherry Icicles are no exception." - The Green Solution.

The Kit Kat, I'm Sorry - Kif Kat Bar:

Cannabis products aren't always brand new and this one is an oldie but it warrants a mention. The Kif Kat was a cannabis-infused bar which, basically, was a KitKat infused with marijuana. It looked the exact same (except that it was green) but didn't exactly taste the same. In order to avoid what would have been a rather large lawsuit against its creators, the DEA put an end to this line of medibles which copied other mainstream bars too.

Candles:

A host of candle makers are including cannabis oil in their candle ingredients. The folks at Kushed specialize in aromatherapy candles and they are firm advocates of the healing properties of cannabis oil:

"Cannabis essential oil, one of the lesser known and “taboo” essential oils, provides a therapeutic aroma that promotes a balance of mind and body by releasing stress, relaxing the body and lifting the spirit."

So it's not a candle to make your living room smell like a dispensary. Rather, its the art of blending plant and essential oils to create a beautiful smell but also to help relieve pain and ease stress without having to vape or smoke.

Pet Treats:

When Fido just won't calm down. More and more pet owners are discovering that their beloved pooch or cat is simply less excitable when given "cannabidiol chews, oils and/or dog treats".

The fact is that marijuana-induced pets are calmer, less anxious and less noisy and so, (especially on occasions such as fireworks, car-rides, groomer visitations etc.) a little treat for your pet may just take the edge off his anxiety when having to deal with the trauma of pet-life. The treats don't include THC so this is not about getting your pet high but is instead about the relaxing effects of CBD.

The results are speaking from themselves; they are selling out at local pet supply stores across the US and Canada!

So there you have some surprising uses for the properties of marijuana. What cannabis products surprised you the most?
