After the long Thanksgiving weekend, the major US exchanges are kicking off the new week in the green. Most cannabis penny stocks started the market in the green, but have since corrected on the TSXV. Let's take a closer look at the cannabis companies trending on the Canadian exchange and their latest company announcements.

Emerald Health Therapeutics (TSXV:EMH)

Emerald Health is currently the only cannabis penny stock that is in the green on the TSXV. The Canadian cannabis company produces and sells medical cannabis across Canada. Emerald Health is headquartered in Victoria, BC.

The company hasn't released any new announcements since November 22nd. At that time, Emerald announced that Thierry Schmidt had been appointed President of Agro-Biotech. Agro-Biotech is the penny stock's Quebec-based cannabis production operation.

“We welcome Thierry to Agro-Biotech. As a born-and-raised Francophone with deep consumer goods business and marketing expertise, Thierry is ideally positioned to advance Agro-Biotech’s strategy to serve patients and consumers in Quebec,” said Mr. Chris Wagner, CEO, Emerald Health Therapeutics.

Despite the lack of recent news, the company is currently outperforming its competitors on the Canadian market today. According to Yahoo Finance, the cannabis penny stock is currently trading at $3.73 a share, up +$0.02 (+0.54%).
